Director of Institutional Equity
Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Director of Institutional Equity. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.
The Director of Institutional Equity leads the college’s efforts to promote equity, access, and compliance with federal and state civil rights laws. This role oversees the institution’s Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity (AA/EEO) and Title IX programs, conducts or oversees investigations involving discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, and develops training and educational initiatives for the campus community. The director collaborates with faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure compliance, implement institutional policies, support a respectful and inclusive campus environment, and maintain required records, reporting, and case management processes.
Rhode Island College is a regional comprehensive public college that serves approximately 6,600 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students through its five schools: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Required qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Title IX administration, equal opportunity/affirmative action, civil rights compliance, employee relations, human resources, student affairs, or a related field. Experience must include conducting or overseeing investigations involving discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, or other civil rights matters; interpreting and applying federal and state civil rights laws and regulations; developing and delivering training and educational programs; and analyzing and reporting on affirmative action and equal opportunity data.
Preferred qualifications:

Advanced degree in law, higher education administration, public administration, human resources, or a related field.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Experience conducting or supervising discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct investigations.

Experience responding to and resolving complaints involving discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.

Experience developing and implementing campus-wide training, prevention, and educational programs related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.

Progressively responsible administrative experience in higher education.

Experience working in a unionized environment.
