Associate Director of Human Resources
Rhode Island College invites applicants for the new position of Associate Director of Human Resources. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.
Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Associate Director assists in providing direction and accountability in the execution of human resource services and activities aligned with the college’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The Associate Director supervises the day-to-day operations of the functional areas of the department and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to ensure best-in-class service and highly efficient HR operations. The role will be responsible for supporting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the HR team and function as part of the HR leadership team.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 8 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a specialized HR area such as but not limited to labor relations, talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards, HRIS management or Master’s Degree with 4 years of progressive HR experience including 2 years in a specialized HR area as described above. Experience must include supervising professional HR staff and proven track record of implementing and managing people processes, operations and systems.
- Knowledge and experience working in Workday, PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin
- Master’s degree in Human Resources/ Labor Relations
- Experience in a higher education and/or unionized environment.
- Additional HR certifications (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Proposed Starting Salary: $100,000-$110,000
