Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Assistant Director, Facilities and Operations, Off-Hour Operations. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.

This position has primary management and supervision of the second shift housekeeping crew, but will also provide emergency inspection and or supervision of Maintenance and Grounds issues that arise during off hours for those crews. The Department of Facilities and Operations is responsible for the maintenance of all campus buildings and property and contractor supervision.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five years of managerial experience in the area of custodial services and or facility maintenance
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competency with current business and trades technologies
  • Ability to physically negotiate the campus buildings under all environmental conditions.
  • Technological skills with facilities-related software and computers.

  • Good understanding of current cleaning technology.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in a unionized setting
  • Bilingual
