The Educational Studies Department & Elementary Education Department at Rhode Island College invites applications for a full-time 1-year limited role for the position of Assistant Professor Elementary and Secondary Mathematics Education.

Required Qualifications:                                                                                                           

  • Masters degree + in Mathematics Education or related field.

  • Demonstrate 3-years’ positive experience in K-12 Mathematics Education and/or working with preservice teachers.

  • Experience teaching K-12 mathematics.

  • Demonstrate a teaching/learning philosophy that reflects a diversity of thought and experience—through instruction, research, or experiential learning and aligns with the FSEHD mission and vision.

  • Demonstrate cultural competency and ability to foster inclusive learning environments and mutual respect for students and colleagues.

  • Expertise in delivering standards-based mathematics pedagogy and content.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Mathematics Education or a closely related field, preferred.

  • Demonstrated mathematics education research through publications and presentations are preferred.

  • Experience with state and national level accreditation work.

  • Knowledge of iSTEM experiences.

  • Leading professional development activities for language education.

  • Developing accreditation reports for state and/or national organizations

Baseline Minimum Salary for Terminal Degree: $65,264
