Assistant Director, Student Engagement and Leadership Development
Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Assistant Director, Student Engagement and Leadership Development. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.
The Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership Development is responsible for providing support and guidance to student organizations on campus. This position will assist student clubs and organizations in creating new/enhanced student activities that promote pride and create new traditions. The Assistant Director works closely with the SELD team and student leader to initiate, plan, develop, and facilitate events and opportunities to enhance the quality of co-curricular student life and College experience for all students, with a focus leadership development and intentional programming.

Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in student personnel/higher education administration, counseling, or a related field.
- A minimum of four years of full-time professional experience in higher education/student affairs.
- Significant experience working as an individual and on teams, in planning and implementing leadership workshops, events and programs.
- Five years’ successful professional experience at a supervisory level in a college or university setting in student activities or work involving administration, recreation, student and staff development or similar activities.
- Experience in writing and assessing learning outcomes, as well as leadership research and program evaluation;
- Involvement in professional organizations closely related to collegiate student leadership development;
- Experience with computer graphics programs and production of visual communications, presentation design.

Proposed starting salary: $ 66,000-$72,000
