Training Tomorrow's Manufacturing Workforce - Process Technicians and Chemical Operators Program
Westerly Education Center, in collaboration with CCRI, RI Department of Labor and Training, RI Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, and various local businesses has launched a unique training program for Process Technicians and Chemical Operators. This program is designed to meet the growing need for skilled professionals in industries like pharmaceuticals, biotech, food processing, wastewater treatment, and more.
Program Details:
- Free for Students: Thanks to a grant, this program is available to students at no cost.
- Comprehensive Training: The program combines 300 hours of “minds-on” and “hands-on” training, including classroom lessons, state-of-the-art process control systems, and process simulation software. Students also gain practical experience with a chemical reactor and are trained in key areas such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), environmental, health & safety (EH&S), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support for Students: In addition to technical training, we provide guidance and career support to help students succeed and transition into the workforce.
