We are delighted to announce the newly created position of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Rhode Island PBS and The Public's Radio. The CRO will help us shape the future of public media for Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. This comes at a transformative time, following the merger of Rhode Island PBS and The Public’s Radio in the spring of 2024.

Through civic engagement, we provide high-quality local, national, and international programming and digital content that educates, inspires, and engages.
As we embark on this journey, our new Chief Revenue Officer will lead the charge in redefining what public media can achieve, working to ensure we deliver on our mission to serve and enrich our communities.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- The CRO will report directly to the CEO to help set and achieve organizational growth goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy to align with the mission and market needs.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and innovative partnerships.
- Track and report progress through key metrics and KPIs.
- Build and lead a high-performing team in sponsorship, development, membership, and events.
- Cultivate a unified culture post-merger, ensuring mission alignment and collaboration.
- Foster open communication and innovation to support revenue growth.
- Oversee sponsorships, underwriting, major giving, and membership programs.
- Actively engage with corporate sponsors, donors, and community leaders to secure high-level deals.
- Develop sustainable revenue strategies while meeting financial targets.
- Work with programming, marketing, and communications teams to ensure alignment in revenue generation.
- Collaborate with finance and operations to create accurate forecasts and manage budgets effectively.
- Liaise with the board and stakeholders to secure support for initiatives.
- Manage external vendors and partnerships, ensuring alignment with revenue goals.
- Hold outsourced membership vendors accountable to performance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, management, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in development, direct marketing, digital fundraising, or business development.
- Proven track record in revenue generation, team leadership, and change management within mission-driven organizations.
- Experience in public media or understanding of its funding models is a plus.
- Passion for public media and alignment with PBS and NPR values.
- Strategic, metrics-driven thinker with strong business acumen.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a focus on results and collaboration.
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.
- Office-based work with some local travel (15%-25%) and occasional evening/weekend commitments.
