We hope you're enjoying the first week of the RI Summer of Soccer! The excitement kicked off this past weekend with celebrations and events taking place across Providence and Warwick, bringing fans from around the world to Rhode Island.

Among the visitors are more than 5,000 Scottish soccer supporters known as the "Tartan Army." Recognizable by their kilts, enthusiastic spirit, and unwavering support for Scotland's national team, these visitors are making their presence known throughout the state and contributing to a vibrant atmosphere for residents and businesses alike.

On Thursday, June 18, the Tartan Army is scheduled to hold a rally at 3:30 p.m. in District Park in Providence, followed by a march through the city. Businesses and commuters should anticipate traffic delays and temporary disruptions in downtown Providence during the event.

For planning purposes, employers may wish to consider adjusted release times, remote work options, or flexible scheduling for employees traveling through the area. Or, if you're feeling festive, hand out a kilt and encourage your team to join in the fun!
