People's Credit Union Teams up with URI Women's Athletics for National Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic

People's Credit Union joined the University of Rhode Island (URI) as the presenting sponsor of the National Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic, a fun annual event dedicated to raising awareness and celebrating the achievements of women in sports.

“As the Official Partner of URI Women's Athletics, we are committed to creating spaces where girls feel seen, supported, and confident in their ability to achieve anything," said Sean Daly, Head of People's Credit Union. "This clinic is about more than sports; it is about empowerment, leadership, and helping young people recognize that they belong wherever their ambitions lead them. When we invest in girls, we're investing in a future filled with possibilities and promise.

Lily Stasaitis, a varsity rower and President of URI's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, states, "National Girls and Women in Sports Day is important to me because I remember going to these events when I was younger, and just seeing women student-athletes continue through college inspired me so much to want to compete in college. I just love the event. I love talking to these younger girls and telling them that they can do whatever they put their mind to."
