Patriotic Music in the Air at Rosecliff

The Gilded Age Orchestra of Newport will “Celebrate America 250” with a special musical program on Thursday, February 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the legendary ballroom of Rosecliff.
Hosted by The Preservation Society of Newport County and led by conductors Dr. Christopher Brellochs and Dr. Mark Stickney, the 30-piece professional orchestra will explore the rich musical legacy of Newport spanning from the American Revolution into the 20th century. Highlights include the first piece performed for the American Centennial in Newport’s Washington Square on July 4, 1876. The program also will showcase music celebrating America composed by European artists.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a preconcert reception. Rosecliff is located at 548 Bellevue Ave.

The Preservation Society of Newport County, Rhode Island, is a nonprofit organization accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
