Centreville Bank Celebrates Grand Opening of First Providence Branch with Community Open Houses and Partnership with Providence Children’s Museum to Sponsor “Free Day of Play” In June

For the first time in its nearly 200 years, Centreville Bank is opening two branches this year in Rhode Island’s capitol city, marking the next milestone in the bank’s continuing expansion.

Centreville Bank is officially celebrating the grand opening of its first Providence branch, located in Olneyville at 1836 Westminster Street, with a ribbon cutting and community open house today. The event welcomed community members, neighbors, and local business owners to explore the branch, connect with the Centreville team, and celebrate the bank’s arrival in the neighborhood. A second open house will be held on Thursday, June 25. Photos from today’s event are attached.

Conveniently situated along Westminster Street, the location is within walking distance of Broadway’s thriving corridor of small businesses, restaurants, and community organizations, positioning the branch at the center of one of Providence’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.

The grand opening events underscore Centreville Bank’s commitment to investing in the communities it serves. As part of today’s celebration, Centreville Bank detailed its sponsorship investment of the Providence Children’s Museum Free Day of Play, a community-wide initiative that will provide free access to the museum for families on Saturday, June 27 to coincide with the museum’s annual birthday celebration. The investment reflects the bank’s continued focus on increasing access, opportunity, and family-friendly programming across Providence.

“This expansion into Providence represents a meaningful step forward for Centreville Bank as we continue to grow with purpose,” said Hal Horvat, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Centreville Bank. “Opening our doors in Olneyville allows us to be part of a dynamic community and build relationships that extend beyond banking. We are focused on delivering value not only through our services, but through our presence, our partnerships, and our long-term commitment to the people and businesses that make Providence strong.”

“We’re grateful to partner with Centreville Bank to celebrate PCM’s 49th birthday by opening our doors to the community for a free day of play,” said Caroline Payson, Executive Director of Providence Children’s Museum. “We look forward to welcoming families for a day filled with joy, exploration, and memorable experiences.”

The expansion into Providence comes as Centreville Bank recently reached $3 billion in assets, with the Olneyville location becoming the 24th branch across Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut. The branch offers a full range of personal and business banking services and is staffed by a fully bilingual team with deep roots in the local community.

The Olneyville team includes Wendy Rosales, Branch Manager (Spanish); Basher Siddique, Assistant Branch Manager (Spanish, Punjabi, Urdu); and Yemili Abreu Ramirez, Banker III (Spanish), ensuring customers can access banking services in multiple languages and feel welcomed and supported from day one.

Community members are encouraged to attend the second open house in Olneyville at 1836 Westminster Street on Thursday, June 25 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to meet the team, tour the branch, and learn more about Centreville Bank’s services and community initiatives.

In the coming weeks, Centreville Bank will open its second branch in the capital city in downtown Providence, located on Westminster Street in the heart of the financial district.
