Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation Awards $132,500 in Grants to Eighteen Non-Profits in Greater RI Region

Bristol County Savings Bank’s Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF) awarded grants totaling $132,500 to eighteen non-profit organizations in the greater Providence, Rhode Island region during a ceremony held recently at White’s of Westport in Westport, Massachusetts.  All total, including the Taunton-Attleboro and SouthCoast regions, the Foundation donated $326,325 to 40 charitable organizations.  Since the Foundation was formed in 1996, more than $36 million has been committed to hundreds of different non-profits in the communities the Bank serves.  In 2025, the Foundation awarded $2.9 million to various 501(c)(3)
organizations.

 
The local organizations that received grants from the Foundation are as follows:
Rhode Island Community $132,500 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island ($10,000), Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island ($2,500), Feed RI ($5,000), Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England ($5,000), Girls on the Run Rhode Island ($2,500), Greater Providence YMCA ($10,000), Housing Network of Rhode Island ($7,500), LISC Rhode Island ($20,000), McAuley Ministries ($10,000), Pawtucket Central Falls Development ($20,000), Providence Children’s Museum ($5,000), Reach Out and Read Rhode Island ($2,500), Rhode Island Kids Count ($2,500), Social Enterprise Greenhouse ($2,500), The FLY Initiative ($10,000), The Economic Progress Institute ($2,500), VNA of Care New England ($5,000) and YMCA of Pawtucket ($10,000).

 
Pawtucket Central Falls Development recently received a $20,000 grant from Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB) through its Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF). John Silva, President of the Foundation and President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank, awarded the grants to the organizations.  Also participating in the event were Sandra Mazo, Deputy Director of Commerce for Mayor Don Grebien’s office, City of Pawtucket and representatives from the BCSCF board and the Bank’s area branches.

Bristol County Savings Bank is an active supporter in the communities in which it serves. The Foundation was established in 1996 as part of the Bank’s 150th Anniversary celebration.  Its purpose is to fund needs that contribute to the economic and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in the greater Taunton/Attleboro region, the greater New Bedford/Dartmouth region, the greater Fall River region and greater Providence, Rhode Island region, with particular emphasis in the areas of education and literacy, economic development and housing for the low- to moderate-income population.
