BETA Group, Inc. Welcomes Kwesi Brown, PE, PTOE, as Vice President in Traffic Engineering

BETA Group, Inc. (BETA), a leading New England-based engineering, planning, asset management, environmental science, and landscape architecture firm, is pleased to announce that Kwesi Brown, PE, PTOE, has joined the firm as a Vice President in the traffic engineering group. Based in BETA’s Hartford, Connecticut office, Kwesi will play a key leadership role in continuing the growth of the firm’s traffic and transportation services, with a particular focus on strengthening and expanding BETA’s Connecticut practice.

Kwesi brings more than 25 years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering, with a distinguished career spanning public- and private-sector work throughout Connecticut and the Northeast. He is widely recognized for his technical expertise, collaborative leadership, and ability to guide complex transportation programs from planning through construction, while building strong, lasting client relationships.

Prior to joining BETA, Kwesi served in senior leadership roles where he oversaw multidisciplinary transportation teams, managed high-profile projects, and drove strategic business growth. His experience includes leading large on-call contracts for state agencies, directing traffic and safety engineering programs, and mentoring engineers across multiple offices.

Kwesi’s project experience includes pedestrian and traffic safety improvements, multimodal corridor and connectivity studies, transit-oriented infrastructure planning, and traffic signal and roadway design projects for municipalities, regional agencies, and state departments of transportation across Connecticut. His work reflects a strong commitment to safety-focused, context-sensitive solutions that improve mobility for all users.

In addition to his professional practice, Kwesi is an active leader within the transportation engineering community. He is a Past President of the Connecticut Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and remains engaged with industry organizations that advance innovation, safety, and professional development.
