The Senesco Marine Story

Senesco was founded in 1999 by a group of prominent Rhode Island business leaders looking to provide careers for the skilled labor and shipbuilding professionals within their communities. Like most shipyards, Senesco started out building small deck barges and eventually evolved into more complex projects.

Senesco has remained a leader in the increasingly competitive barge, tug, and ferry segments of shipbuilding. We have successfully expanded into fabricating aluminum vessels to meet ABS's challenging High Speed Craft class.

As the industry grows, Senesco continues to grow with it, always striving to meet the needs of its customers. The Senesco team is dedicated to excellence and achieves this through fostering values of collaboration, professionalism, and a culture of continuous improvement.
