We join Rhode Island today in mourning the passing of Senate President Dominick Ruggerio, a dedicated public servant who worked to make our state a better place. He was a steadfast friend of the Rhode Island business community. Senator Ruggerio championed job creation and economic development initiatives to make our state more competitive. His leadership was instrumental in supporting workforce education and skills training, helping small business owners, bringing transformative projects such as the development of the I-195 land in downtown Providence to fruition and ensuring that Rhode Island was best positioned for long-term growth. Senator Ruggerio’s life-long commitment to improving the well-being of all Rhode Islanders will have a lasting impact for many years to come. 
 
The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce will miss working closely with Senator Ruggerio on issues critical to our state. Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones and legislative colleagues.
