\nDoug Emanuel is a partner with Chace Ruttenberg &\; Freedman\, LLP\, with offices in Providence and Westerly. In addition\, he has served as chair of the Rhode Island Bar Association'\;s New Lawyers Committee.

\nDoug has been a member of the Board of Excellence of the RI Chapter of the Alzheimer&rsquo\;s Association since November\, 2025. His connection to the organization is short\; his affiliation with Alzheimer&rsquo\;s Disease is much longer\, and it can be summed up in three words: \;

\nPast. Present. Future.
\n \;
\nDoug&rsquo\;s mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer&rsquo\;s at age 58 and died at 73. His mother-in-law is well beyond communication or interaction due to Alzheimer&rsquo\;s grip. And Doug&rsquo\;s best friend was diagnosed just after his 60th birthday and was told to retire immediately.
